SpiceBox didn't begin in a boardroom. It began in a busy office lunchroom; with one dabba, and a group of hungry friends who couldn't resist sneaking a bite. Every day, Gurmeet's lunch would arrive, lovingly packed by his mother. And every day, without fail, his colleagues would hover around his dabba the moment he opened it.

At first, it was just lunchtime banter. But slowly, a thought took hold. What if my mom did cook for everyone? What if more people could get a taste of this GHAR KA KHANA that so many in the city were missing?
That idea kept growing in Gurmeet's head, until it was too loud to ignore. He knew this wasn't just about food.
It was about comfort. Nostalgia. That feeling of being taken care of, even on the most exhausting days.
So Gurmeet did what most wouldn't dare to. He quit his job to start a tiffin service that felt like family and tasted like home. People thought he was crazy, especially Arun (Gurmeet's Dabbawala at Edelweiss, and the first Dabbawalla to come on board SpiceBox's team).
the first 60 meals
And just like that, SpiceBox took its first step. Gurmeet's mom cooked every meal by hand. They packed each dabba with love and care. Gurmeet delivered all 60 tiffins himself, traveling across the city handing over one meal at a time.

There was no big team. No marketing budget. Just a mother who cooked with her heart, and a son who believed Mumbai deserved to taste it. Every dabba carried more than just food, it carried intention and a kind of love that didn't need words.
At SpiceBox, we're not chasing trends. We're here for something far more meaningful. A quiet reminder that you're cared for, even in a city that moves too fast. Every dabba we send out carries more than just food. It carries thought. It carries love. It carries the same joy, comfort, and familiarity you get when you eat at home.
